The Dallas Atheist Book Club is a place for freethinkers (atheists, agnostics, skeptics, secularists, etc.) to read and to engage in lively discussion about books relating to atheism, freethought, science, history, governance, biography, psychology, philosophy, and some fiction. We try to meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM for the book review. This is usually followed up with a social gathering at a local restaurant or bar for dinner and drinks at 9:00 PM. We also occasi …

I want a group of like minded people who can have fun together and who don't rely on faith. Atheists in the Texas LGBT community can be hard to find, but I know we're out there. Let's build a community where we can be ourselves.

This group lost its Organizer so now I'm doing something interesting with it. Have you ever noticed that most singles or dating groups consist mostly of mainstream people like heterosexual monogamous white Christians that make up the vast majority of the general population? That's fine for them, but the rest of us that don't fit into those categories have a much harder time finding each other. So I thought I'd modify this group to help the rest of us. Just to be clear, this is not a religiously …

This meetup group is to help the Common Law Institute grow and better serve its members. See http://common-law.net and the About page for more information. We are NOT terrorists of any kind, not even "paper terrorists"; we will NOT be issuing bogus liens or fake court documents which some "common law" groups apparently use to harrass their political opponents. We will NOT knowingly engage in or promote any illegal or immoral activities. Our concept of Common Law is not what's called "English Co …

A group for anyone with desire to go beyond dogmatic religious or atheistic beliefs to an experience of the "self" as pure consciousness prior to identification with the mind, and the physical and emotional bodies. Some concepts used to describe this (stateless) state are: enlightenment, salvation, realization of oneness, "god nature", etc. Being our true nature is the "natural state", not something high and rarefied that comes through technical control or manipulation, but rather appears natura …

Looking for a fun group where you can discuss your liberal political views without fear of starting a fight? This is the place for you! We are women with strong opinions, a great sense of humor, and thirsting for some female interaction that reflects our progressive values. All faiths, agnostics and atheists welcome--as long as you are liberal!
Meet other bright families with children. A bright is someone who has a naturalistic worldview - free of supernatural and mystical elements. We will have family get-togethers, including playgroups, outings, museum trips, and camping trips.

This group was formed to create a space for Black feminists to come together and inspire collective energy. We invite ANYONE, male, female, gay, straight, or other, Christian, atheist, anarchist, democrat, republican, lol whatever you ARE, however you IDENTIFY, so long as you are also interested in conscious thought. For those unfamiliar with Black feminism: Black feminism can basically be summed up in the argument that, if we centralize the issues of the theoretically "most" oppressed, to free …
