I have been thinking - the more active members we have, the more events we can sponsor and the more choices. The question is: how do we get new people?

Well, perhaps we all can help. Make it a goal (not too late for New Year's resolution - it's still Jan! smile) to get a friend or two to join our group. If you belong in other meetups or forums, mention it to people there.

Any other ideas?

I think the question is not so much how to get more members (though it's certainly important) but rather how to get existing members to participate. This group currently has 77 members. I'm sure some of them would be interested in participating more if they had the right incentives. Perhaps having good reasons for people to participate could solve both problems.

I can ask members of the geek culture group but we still need ideas for future meetups.

Good point. We need more active members, or we need to design events that will generate more interests. For that, we would need to know what people would like to do as a group.

I do understand though that we are all busy. Many members are in many other meetup groups. Some have work and some have young children.

I have always been an atheist and have joined different groups when I was young. But I always had too many other interests to spend time talking about atheism or being active. I have changed after reading Dawkins "The God Delusion". I have decided SOMEONE needs to step up and devote time and energy.

Anyway, please do think about what YOU would like to do and we'll try to organize it. The nice thing about Meetup is that we need only one or two people to get event started. So let's jump in.
