"Gran Torino" A film by academy award winner Clint Eastwood, it's the story of Korean War vet and retired autoworker Walt Kowalski who doesn't much like how his life or his neighborhood has turned out. He especially doesn't like the people next door, Hmong immigrants from Southeast Asia. However, the humanist tendacies we all share come to fore when Walt defends those neighbors from a local gang that feeds on violence and fear. The presentation of the film is free and open to the public.
“ A good film portraying the transformation of a bitter, bigoted and prejudiced man into an altruistic individual whose humanistic defense of his neighbors portrayed the acceptance of another culture that, at first, was alien to him. ”
