I started to "deconvert" from theism (esp. Christianity) about 4 years ago. I want to meet and share thoughts with other non-theists.
So much stupidity & insanity, so little space. For now, anything to do with the "Rapture" is high on the list. The Islamic "There is no God but God" is a great example of the fallacy of "begging the question."
Thomas Paine (albeit he was a Deist). I loved his "The Age of Reason", which was one of the first books I read in the process of my "deconversion."
Self-described agnostic until late teens, then a theist until about 2004, then agnostic until about 2006, now atheist on inductive logical grounds (i.e. evidence does not support existence of any sort of deity).
Interesting discussion topics, nicely organized and moderated, congenial people, relaxed atmosphere, decent food, ample parking. What's not to like? I expect to learn something new every meeting.
