TOPIC FOR THIS MEETING: Religion, Bigotry, and Racism Our normal meeting format is to meet and order something to eat at / around 6:30pm while socializing. At around 7:30pm, the group moderator calls for discussion topics to be discussed at next month's meeting, and the group votes on the top 3 topics from those suggested. Once next month's topic has been decided, the moderator then introduces the discussion topic that was chosen at the last meeting and goes around the room to invite attendees to speak their perspective to the topic. It's a little structured, but we find it's a great format to get people engaged and included in the conversation and usually leads to subgroups breaking off and chatting in side booths until the meeting is over or the restaurant closes, whichever comes first. The most challenging part is continually finding good topical questions to discuss. The topics are connected to freethought, religion, or church-state separation. We encourage you to take note of topics throughout your week and suggest them at our meeting!
