I see these events at unitarian churches and and I am wondering if it is a debate? A forumn for all to speak? A question and answer with a respecstble Christian theologists there are some you know! I saw some other things on past months that looked like debates or lectures. I am interested in both so details would be appritiated

As far as the cinco party, I know it says family and friends but I find myself annoyed when other people bring little chidlren to an adult function and I have two wonderful daughter myself 1 and thr3 and I probably won't bring them Is there an age cutoff?

Hi Jason,

Your daughters are more than welcome - this event is family friendly and we try to behave around the little ones :)

The Humanist group has different formats. I went to one that was a movie and then a discussion; they change it up every now and again.

There are alos lots of other groups out there as well - like the Metroplex Group and the UTA Group!

Thank you. I would be very interesting in discussing theology with a theology professor. I have several in school and knew several in the Navy and some were better than others. The so called 'Deists' who believe in a creator but he isn't a part of any religion known to man are facsinating to talk to. The fundamentalists of any doctrine are usually a bore and to easy to provoke to anger when their faiths are so easily shattered.

A theist who can discuss rationally, in a polit debate like forumn would interest me very much. We shoud look into that. But the way, see you tomrrow!

I am usually interested in debating with someone who has the perspective that nature has a design, an order and/or a purpose. Which they conclude could only come a designer. They often say he/it exists outside of time to avoid the who created it question but there are many other points they make that if taken at face value can seem to make sense and you can see where they are coming from. The person who is often the most interesting and enlightning to me at least are the ones who discount all earthly religions but have the belief in a god/designer. I disagree of course but I learn something in each discussion, I know I am not giving an exact answer to theological discussions I like to have but the topic is a broad one :)

Discussing theology with someone who thinks the seven plagues are coming and man was created from mud and women from one of his ribs is not my idea of a logical, rational discussion you know?
