Memphis Atheists is first and foremost a social group, but we do like to have topics of discussion to help get things started.

TOPIC: In light of the recent rise of religious fundamentalism in the United States, what - if any - roles should atheism espouse in politics? Feel free to bring material to support your claims, and be prepared for an insightful discussion!

* Close Encounters - Share any run-ins you've had with religion or superstition (or strange behavior) since our last Meetup.

* What's on Your Mind? - Bring a topic of your own!

    • “ There were a few complaints about the food, which surprised me due to my prior experiences with Coletta's. My food was not as good as I expected, as well. The members seemed to appreciate the topic I selected for the occasion, though we never discussed it as an entire group. The service was acceptable, neither excellent nor terrible but okay. We had a high turnout, as 17 people showed up - all were returning members/guests, but I was happy to see such a large crowd (I credit the location to the attendance success). I enjoyed organizing my first Meetup, and I hope the next one is even better! ”
    • “ Coletta's was a good place to have a Meetup. The service was good, the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was good. They do close at 9, though, and while they were kind enough to let us stay for a while, it became apparent that it was time to leave. Other than that, it was good. ”
