Honest and well thought out answers to ALL of the questions posed in this poll are essential to the survival of DC ATHEIST WOMEN !
LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD! When added together as a whole , all of the questions pose a larger ideological one : THE QUESTION OF GROUP IDENTITY , OF MEANING AND PURPOSE ! WE MUST establish a SEPARATE-BUT-EQUAL identity and purpose that distinguishes our group from the other local atheist groups, ( namely our sister groups , Beltway Atheists and DC Atheists) . Take your time to carefully mull over these questions , BUT PLEASE ANSWER THEM if you would like so see THIS meetup group FLOURISH and GROW and NOT WHITHER AWAY. To Transcend this Fleeting Age of Darkness ! Addendum : After you have thought and answered ALL of the questions , if you would like to schedule some one-on-one phone time with me , please answer YES to the phone-time Question. A one-on-one phone session would benefit the group because it gives you an opportunity to brainstorm your ideas with the organizer before presenting them to the group. Of course you also have the choice to post your suggestions immediately to the group-at-large using the message board option located on our meetup site. The defining process is the hardest part ! Perhaps you may even want to consider being an assistant organizer ! I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING THE VOICE OF THE COLLECTIVE! -RAINNA (your new organizer) |

I signed up for this group (and not the other atheist groups) because I feel more comfortable "finding my way" through discussions with other women. Conversations with men sometimes become focused on one-upmanship whereas women tend towards finding common ground. That's not to say I don't like a good debate...I certainly do! But with a women's group there's also the potential for exploring atheist perspectives that are unique to women.
