I tracked the group down after reading Boule's articles in The Oregonian regarding Billie Slieg. Ms. Slieg had been barred from joining the local Elk's Lodge and not even allowed as a guest after having "confessed" that she was an atheist.
Socializing via the book club, OMSI Science Pub (well, maybe not), the Meetups--everything you are already doing--looking forward to CFI lectures and events.
I was conscious of the differences, in my thinking, around the age of seven, but I had no words for it. I knew whatever this "faith" was to which others referred was something I just didn't have. The purported "void" was/is just my natural state.
A lifetime of free Sunday mornings; a very small circle of friends; common sense; forty years of both formal and informal study (Humanities w/concentrations in Comparative Religion and Mythology) and always sitting in "the gunfighter's chair".
