Introduction
I am one of the thousands of dreaded Californians (and proud of it) making Oregon my home for the past two years. I believe that diversity was the key to success in evolution, so it should hold true for the state of Oregon. Wish us luck!
How did you hear about the group?

I tracked the group down after reading Boule's articles in The Oregonian regarding Billie Slieg. Ms. Slieg had been barred from joining the local Elk's Lodge and not even allowed as a guest after having "confessed" that she was an atheist.

What kinds of activities would you like to see this kind of group do?

Socializing via the book club, OMSI Science Pub (well, maybe not), the Meetups--everything you are already doing--looking forward to CFI lectures and events.

How long have you been an atheist?

I was conscious of the differences, in my thinking, around the age of seven, but I had no words for it. I knew whatever this "faith" was to which others referred was something I just didn't have. The purported "void" was/is just my natural state.

What does being an atheist mean to you?

A lifetime of free Sunday mornings; a very small circle of friends; common sense; forty years of both formal and informal study (Humanities w/concentrations in Comparative Religion and Mythology) and always sitting in "the gunfighter's chair".
