Sunday 25 May 2008 Atheist Social - Lawn Bowling

Kensington Bowling Club
Corner of Doncaster Avenue and Barker Street
Kingsford 2032

$10/per person. Play till you drop or till dark. No shoe requirements. The club starts serving drinks from midday but there is no food. Suggest 2pm start to allow a few hours to play till dark. It's winter and it gets dark early. Plan subject to weather closer to proposed date. The club has two greens. One is usually used for competition on Saturdays, so Sunday is a safer bet.

Kensington Bowling Club
Welcome to the Kensington Bowling Club. We are one of the oldest bowling clubs in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney established in 1928 located in Doncaster Ave, Kingsford NSW Australia.

Lawn bowls is no longer viewed as a pastime for the middle-aged and retirees; it is a competitive sport enjoyed by men and women of all age groups. Moreover, it provides an environment that promotes local community spirit and a welcoming place for people to meet and socialise.

The bowling club is centrally located and easily accessible, and only minutes away from the University of New South Wales. There are two first class greens, one with a new state-of-the-art lighting system. Seating for 200, and a large kitchen and BBQ facilities. Fully licensed bar with competitive prices.
Free use of bowling equipment and free instruction for new bowlers.

I overslept and just realized we start in 15 minutes, and the trains are down on my line. Barring a last minute rescue by a car-owner, I won't be able to make it until its over. :-(
