Wow.
The far more inferior female of the species may actually have more of a presence in the bible. Blasphemy! Yet one more example of how we most certainly don't get our morals from religion. The fact that we need to update the bible to keep up with the changing moral zeitgeist of our society should be a red flag to most fundamentalists...but it's not. If anything, there will be a little more than a dull roar from some of the more vocal bible thumpers. We'll see how it plays out. If they really want to do something useful with the book, they should think about pulling out all of the superstitious, perverse, sadistic, genocidal, scientifically inaccurate, and fictional bits between the covers. But...that would leave them with nothing left to read, I guess. Be sure to check out the video of the new Texas law requiring public schools to have an elective religious course and how one school is circumventing its intention. The times - they are a'changin'. NIV Revision. -Annette |

Does it look a little perverse to have a copyright to "the bible" that is, in theory, supposed to be THE text for ALL people? Or is this just my reading too much into the legalities of copyright laws? By the way, who actually "owns" the text of the bible, anyway? Anyone in particular, or just the corporation of the religious sect that goes by it?

Fantastic stuff. - The new and improved bible will surely spread knowledge, peace and understanding to the masses. On another note - I believe that the copyright is owned by the publisher.
