Looking to hang out and do stuff with cool people who won't try to get me to join their church or try to save my (non-existent) soul.
Pretty much my whole life, but I didn't come out until 1985. ("But you seem so nice/happy/well-adjusted!") The hardest part was getting New Age-y folks to understand that my storytelling abilities with Tarot have nothing to do with the supernatural.
Science/technology/museum exhibits, TED-like lectures (www.ted.com), movies, boardgames (I have abstract strategy games), picnics in the park (I'll bring hula hoops and juggling gear).
Sure.
"I'm a Certified Hoopnoticaź Teacher offering Hoopdance classes on Sunday afternoons in Morley Field. See San Diego Hoopdance (http://www.meetup.com/San-Diego-Hoopd...
) for more details."
All fun, no fables!

Christmas is getting too religious.
"Yeah, it makes my Christian friends & co-workers crazy when I tell them that I'm an atheist and how I'm looking forward to putting up my Christmas tree in the same breath. Georgina"
What's with the Marine birthday and ball event?
"I was confused by the military notes on the calendar, too, thinking that they were a meetup of some sort...."
"I was leaning towards a Tuesday or Wednesday night, so long as it doesn't conflict with the San Diego Jugglers (who are meeting this coming Tuesday). What nights do you usually have off, Mark? Georgina"
"*Squee* I am most certainly in! Georgina"
"How many of you are fans of Mr. Diety? The most recent episode tackles one of the many issues that always made my head spin about Christianity: The Trinity...."
New Meetup: Game Night in December
"Outside of Monopoly, I don't have a lot of boardgames, and what I do have tends to be two-player strategy games: Chess, Hive, and Go. If boardgames ain't your cup of java, I have a classic XBox and two controllers...."
"Ack! I am busy both November 12 and 14. But I'll host a game night in December if someone is picking up November. :-) Georgina"
"I love Family Guy! My house is still a mess from the move, but I inherited four chairs, and a fancy-schmancy dining room table that will seat six if two people are willing to "rough it" on bar stools...."
"That sounds like a great idea. The Kida book sounds the most interesting to me at the moment. Stephen King isn't my cup of tea, but then again not everyone shares my love of H.P. Lovecraft and Philip K. Dick. --Georgina"
Potluck picnic on Sunday, October 25
"I'll bring water and hula hoops!"
