Skully suggested we'll combine volleyball with BBQ...(the healthy with the not so healthy:-)
So people who think that bouncing a ball over a net might not really be to their liking can bounce
some meatballs around on the grill, or play Frisbee or boccie balls or just sit in the grass and do nothing.

Let's do this on Sunday the 25th at 11 AM.

We will meet in Balboa Park at the corner of 6th Ave and Maple street.

Pal Joey's is a couple steps up from being a "dive" bar and a few steps down from being "Gaslamp chic". It caters to all ages, from 20s to 70s, and the patrons are friendly and approachable. Dress code is casual.

Join us for some cheap drinks ($3 mini-pitcher of Natural) and a free live band on Friday, October 23rd. Pool tables are available for only 75 cents a game.

We will be at the corner booth near the jukebox (unless someone else snags it first).

This is a great chance to socialize in a casual, fun setting on a Friday night. Come join us!

I'm mirroring this from the Humanist Association of San Diego's meetup group. This sounded interesting so I thought I'd attend and post it to our calendar as well.

Sunday night we will be having a discussion on the Origin of Species.
We will be discussing the 150th publication of the book, and Ray Comfort's ominous 50 pages.

We will also be discussing the life of Charles Darwin, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and the Evolution v. Intelligent Design in the public sphere (From Dover to Louisiana)

Come and join us, bring some food to share (pot luck style)

and come ready to have a great conversation.

Hey all you nonbelievers and freethinkers!
This is an event that is based on Katherine's Ladies' Night Out, although I'm opening it to anyone regardless of their DNA. We'll be having dinner at a place that is actually near my place out in Mira Mesa. Yes, I know it's a trip for many, but the bus line goes just past it so it's more easily do-able for more folks (take bus 20 to the Black Mountain and Miramar or Black Mountain and Activity Rd stop and cross the street). I love Indian food, and it's a place that serves animal foods and fleshless foods for those veggie lovers among us. It looks like it'll cost somewhere around $10 (vegetarian who get a basic meal) to about $18 (for flesh eaters who order a drink), and all main course dishes are served with either bread or rice. C'mon out and enjoy some good company on a Saturday night!

The Haunted Trail and Haunted Hotel are great, or so I hear.

Unfortunately though parking can be a real pain at the Hotel which is downtown and the Trail is great but I figured maybe we oughta try something further north.

Many of our meetups have been near metro SD, we have members up in north county though. So hopefully this will bring out members that usually don't make the meetups down south. Also, from what I have read, this haunted house beats the others "hands down".

You got a choice of three activities, the Hayride, House and the "Chamber". I'm gonna be cheap and just go for the Haunted House but feel free to experience the other two areas. I just hope all of you that choose to sign up go through the Haunted House along with me first, not that I'm scared.....you know, just wanna experience it as a group, okay?

Afterwards, maybe The Board & Brew?

*Update*

As the popularity for this event increased and the waiting list was nearly as long as the guest list, I thought it may be a good idea to change the venue of this party. I would like to accommodate as many people as possible, so I've rented the club house for my apartment's complex in Chula Vista. There is tons of space (and even a full sized kitchen) to allow everyone to do their own thing. There's plenty of rooms for board games and a large big screen TV for those of us who want to watch movies. So, all you wait-listers, your wait is over.

Caveats:

1) I'm changing the start time of the party from 7:00pm to 5:00pm because the club house closes at 10:00pm. So, even though the party starts at 5:00, you can arrive anytime before 10:00.

2) I would be very grateful to have a few people stay after to help clean up. I can't foresee there being a big mess, but it would be great to have some assistance since the facility has to be neat and tidy by closing time.

3) I need a volunteer to bring paper plates/silverware. I'm planning on making/buying pizza and other things and having enough utensils for everyone would be a big help.

4) Since I won't have my arsenal of movies at your disposal, give me an idea of what genre you movie-goers want to see (I'll pick the most popular two) and I'll bring as many movies that fit those interests and we can decide from there. Click here for the poll.

Let me know if you have any questions. See you there!

Okay everyone, I was thinking how great it would be if we did our Game/Movie night once a month, so I’m happily volunteering for the month of October.

I literally have hundreds of DVDs to choose from if you would like to watch a movie or play some games if you’d prefer. (Please feel free to bring your own games as well.) I also have a great view of the night sky from outside my apartment if you like to stargaze – telescope provided. We’ve got a big and beautiful half moon this night and we should also have some really good views of both Venus and Jupiter.

Food/refreshments will be served and feel free to bring any snacks or beverages you like. I won’t be serving alcohol, but if you want to bring some, go for it!

You can park anywhere in the parking lot provided it’s not a covered space. All covered parking spots are for residents only. PLEASE keep this in mind because you can be towed if you’re parked in a resident’s assigned spot.

Closer to the date, I’ll e-mail everyone who has RSVP’d “Yes” with the address, directions and cell phone number.

All right skeptics! Let’s make this a great one. Hope to see you there!

I was thinking of going out to the the last home game.
I was just going to make a note of it on the calendar because it's hard to get a bunch of tix together in one row but what the heck.

Please sign up as soon as possible and we can all attempt to get seats in the same row, if possible.
I think the Coke Value Weekend tx, hot dog and Coke for 12bucks would be the best bet.

Afterwards we can head on over to WPnT/

Coca-Cola Value Weekends
Get an Upper Reserved ticket, hot dog and a Coke, all for only $12 for any Friday through Sunday regular season home game.
