A message from the President of the Iowa Secularists

Dear Des Moines Iowa Secularists,

I am writing to inform you of the recent change in leadership in the Meetup organizers. Kyle and Amanda are no longer Assistant Organizers for this Meetup. This decision was made by me as President of the Iowa Secularists and is pending approval of the entire board. This decision was made after much deliberation on my part and I finally took action because I believe it is in the best interest of the Iowa Secularists.

Although the title of this Meetup is the Des Moines Atheists, we have been very clear that it is funded by and is a local group of the Iowa Secularists. This means that actions taken by the group are the responsibility of the state-wide organization. This is why we require approval and insist on the group following the rules and regulations that we, as a state-wide organization, are required to follow.

In the interim of leadership, we will have board presence at meetings. I would be interested in hearing from other members who would like to consider acting as assistant organizers to this group and who support the goals of the entire state-wide organization of the Iowa Secularists. Daren Jaques remains the Organizer for this group and will return from active duty at the end of the month.
