I think I can speak for most of us in saying that it is a pretty lonely experience being a non-theist in the bible belt.

Personally I would like to change that, and I think a meetup group is an important first step.

Let's talk about what it is to be an Atheist. How to promote Atheism as the moral high ground. How to debate theists without getting into a fistfight. How to inform xians that they subscribe to a polytheistic pagan religion, etc, etc.

One of the things I would like to accomplish this year is a public showing of "the God Who Wasn't There" by Brian Flemming in a church.
