Can anyone here tell me where this phrase may have come from? My understanding is that an Atheist does not believe in any superior being, aka god. That being true the KJ god is an Atheist! Am I correct in thinking this? I need to borrow someone's brain cells in writing a paper to be published in my hometown's little newspaper. The title of course would suggest that the KJ god is truly an Atheist.

So probably 'God', if it were to exist, would not be an atheist since it's pretty easy to believe in the existence of yourself. |

As far as I can track this phrase, it's a humorous argument. The gist is that if god doesn't believe in a higher power than itself, god is an atheist. After all, it's no great trick to believe in your own existence; no faith is involved. So god wouldn't have any religious faith.
Here's a link to an article that goes into this in more depth: http://www.strongathe... But the short answer is that it's a joke. |
