I am sure that many of you have seen or heard this already but for those of you who haven't, I thought I would post it here. I am starting to think that Mr. Stein may be the best thing that has ever happened to the evolution/creation debate. Many on the political right are even starting to realize that he has totally lost it and are distancing themselves from him and his delusional ideas.

Here is an excerpt from an interview he did with Paul Crouch, Jr. on the Trinity Broadcasting Network:

Stein: When we just saw that man, I think it was Mr. Myers [i.e. biologist P.Z. Myers], talking about how great scientists were, I was thinking to myself the last time any of my relatives saw scientists telling them what to do they were telling them to go to the showers to get gassed ? that was horrifying beyond words, and that?s where science ? in my opinion, this is just an opinion ? that?s where science leads you.

Crouch: That?s right.

Stein: ?Love of God and compassion and empathy leads you to a very glorious place, and science leads you to killing people.

Crouch: Good word, good word.

Since Stein is so convinced that science leads to death maybe he should be denied medical attention the next time he shows up at the hospital.

I am also glad to see that The Anti-Defamation League has issued a statement deploring Stein's Darwin-inspired-the Holocaust thesis. Read it here.

Michael,

Thanks for the heads up; I did a little research on it and found a YouTube clip of the interview. I figured I'd throw what I found out on my own site, maybe raise some awareness in the process.

Thanks again,
Brian

It is good to know he isn't helping his argument.
Every time I see that guy he is pushing his conservative views. By the way, what does he do? I remember him as an actor in movies, then games shows versus his brain, then politics. I see him on financial shows all the time as well.
Oh well, I am not sure anyone is listening to him anyway.

he got his big break being President Nixon's speech writer. Then he tried doing something serious like comedy. seems odd to me. I always thought he was too smart to believe in creation or ID. After all, I know several conservative atheist but they are at least not fooled by the imagination station in the clouds. I figured he had a brain behind the brain too

I love it when that happens.

I should have seen that coming. Stein definitely got caught overreaching on this. Particularly wacky is "that's where science leads you." He should have stopped at bashing Natural Selection.

I was a little puzzled too; I'm pretty sure this guy is smart. It's easy to write off religious maniacs as stupid but that's not always the case. That can be a dangerous underestimation. I wonder if he's maybe delusional.

Of course don't rule out money; that could be a factor here too. Maybe he cut a nice "under the table" deal to spout some crazy for cash.
