Introduction

I'm a relatively new agnostic atheist and am drowning in religious friends and groups. I need a freethinking life preserver.

How long have you been conscious that you no longer believe in gods? Has the realization altered things in your life?

It has been a year or so since I let go of the idea of any kind of god.

What led you to abandon your faith in the prevailing mythologies of the culture? Was it a sudden realization? Triggered by an event? Or did you just gradually evolve to this position without realizing it until it was done?

My journey to atheism began when reading a children's bible to my six year old. He asked my why God killed all the people in the flood and I heard myself stammer. That was three years ago.

What belief system were you raised in?
