- What belief system were you raised in?

I was raised as a Methodist. I later became American Baptist and later raised my children in a Evangelical Congregational Church.
- What led you to abandon your faith in the prevailing mythologies of the culture? Was it a sudden realization? Triggered by an event? Or did you just gradually evolve to this position without realizing it until it was done?

I suppose it was gradual. Things never made sense, but as it "was right" I just didn't question things for years. Some years ago I was attending Unity which allowed me to realize that the Bible didn't have to be taken literally. That opened up a world of thought for me and I ran with it - all the way out of the church. I'm still running.
- How long have you been conscious that you no longer believe in gods? Has the realization altered things in your life?

About ten years ago I began to read everything I could find and I have discovered that gods are invented in the image of the inventor. That freed me to give my mind free reign and what wonderful thoughts have come. I look at everything differently.
