Introduction

I'm new in Springfield and would like to meet interesting people.

How long have you been conscious that you no longer believe in gods? Has the realization altered things in your life?

I have always been an atheist. My first conciousness of it was at the age of 5.

What led you to abandon your faith in the prevailing mythologies of the culture? Was it a sudden realization? Triggered by an event? Or did you just gradually evolve to this position without realizing it until it was done?

In my case atheism was considered normal in my family. The way I have evolved is in my understanding of my non-beliefs in contrast to the variety of religious beliefs in our society.

What belief system were you raised in?

I grew up in a non-religious family with a Christian cultural background. My brother and I were taught to respect the beliefs of others. We were not religious but we cherished the traditional parts of our cultural background.
