Hmm, July in Illinois. Likely to be unbearably hot and humid. We’ll all be dragging, most likely. And I may in fact not be available for this Meetup; we may be on vacation at that point.

Taken together, these things tell me not to be ambitious for this meeting. Let’s just say, meet at the Buffet for some desultory conversation, and see how it goes. Maybe you’ll all get chance to gossip about me!

So, May. Generally a pleasant month. Let's meet at the old hangout. But let's have just a little bit of an agenda this time. One of the things we said we'd like to do is write a counter-flyer to the religious ones that proselytizers hand out—that is, something to give those missionaries who come to your door.

Let's make a start on that one. Everybody come with one idea, one statement that you would like to see appear in such a flyer. Please note, we already have a pamphlet for the group, one that is aimed at freethinkers who might want to join. This would be aimed at the religious who are trying to convert us. Keep that in mind.

Of course, we will still have plenty of time for free-flowing conversation on whatever topic suits you. Till then!

As we all breathe a sigh of relief at exiting the holiday madness, let's take the easy route and meet at the Buffet.

I suggest we use this meeting to talk about things we would like the group to do in the new year. Group resolutions! Sitting down and talking is great, but we can do more.

One thing we need to do is recruit. Everybody put your thinking caps on before you come, and bring ideas with you as to how this could be accomplished.
