The Venue

The olive branch is not
without venue for escape
Scholars preach passion
like prisons breed rape
And churches take money
with a solid tax break
But they have nothing
to offer
that they didn’t make
Scriptures are forged
book after book
While kings have slaves
engrave their way
without a second look
And rain floods life
to destroy the offspring
of angels
while the twilight dangles
with an unknown date
to once again deliver
the wrath of fate
The olive branch is not
without venue for escape
And Jobe loses his manifest
for creation
because evil sought goods
resignation
And seven seals reveal the deal
that’s always been hidden
beneath the apples peal
Where knowledge is sorrow
and sorrow is grief
Vengeance strikes
just like a thief
Salvation comes beneath
a murderous disguise
Even Moses offered nothing
that he could not hide
And Jacob took the stairs
while Able was unaware
The Yin and Yang
dangle in pairs
Though we can’t bare
more than we can take
The olive branch is not
