Encouraging blood donation.

I just realized that disclosing my own experience could discourage others from donating. This happened to me because I was dehydrated.

I urge you to drink plenty of liquids BEFORE and AFTER you donate. The bit of fruit juice they give you does not rehydrate you. Also, this happened to me several hours after because I didn't get enough liquids. I will probably donate again, but I'm still too spooked.
