I am currently reading Susan Jacoby's The Age of American Unreason. I would like to engage in a discussion with other members who have read this book. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. Jacoby argues that American culture is anti-intellectual. Fundamentalist religion is one of the culprits.

I believe I saw her on Bill Moyers, but haven't read her book. I'm behind on my reading so can't really discuss it. The video about the death of the poor unsaved pickle is adequate proof of her reasoning. Jesus loves fried pickles!!!
