This month we'll be meeting at the Bristol Bar & Grill in the Highlands, about a half a block down from Ramsi's. Facing the door of Ramsi's, turn right and walk half a block, and you are at the Bristol.

We need to meet at the Bristol this month because of some facilities they have, but doing so necessitates a couple of changes in the way we do things. I'll send a followup email outlining those changes.

Our June guest will be Dr. Jason Gainous, from UofL. Dr. Gainous is a professor of political science whose specialty is the intersection of religious values and politics. He describes the presentation he will be making for us thusly:

"My research focuses on political behavior and public opinion research. I have published on a variety of topics including how religion and values shape attitudes and voting behavior. I plan to talk about the current state of public opinion with regards to religion and voting behavior in the U.S."

Dr. Gainous' curriculum vitae can be found here --

Welcome Giman! I was not able to make it to this meetup due to another commitment, but I hope to see you at the picnic next month. I think your question about the US presidents is interesting and have posted it to the mailing list for further discussion.

It was my first time and great to meet you all and had very interesting presentation. I didn't have enough time to meet all the attendents. During presentation, I had a question that were there any presidential candidate whose religion was not a protestant in american history. I thought one thing that the voting behavior was not very different because both of candidates were religious anyway. Honestly, I didn't understand 100 percent yesterdays presentation because of my poor English

Maybe, I misinterpretated yesterdays presentation :-( However, it was great to see you all because we were there for one reason no matter what we speak, where we from. I will try to be regular attendant for the meeting from now on, please me teach me if I don't follow well you guys. I will see you all at next meeting.

You will still receive invites for future meetups if you RSVP no for this one.

If I say no, will I still get invites? I say this because I currently live in a different city in Kentucky, but am very interested in coming one day. Don't know when I'll be able to make it, but I'll continue to keep an interest.
