Leapin’ Larry is just too much.  B’ham will likely get some national media attention for this one.  Even my believer friends think this is nuts.

Carol,
The aclu would be the a good idea if......
you had explained to the judge that you couldn't swear to god because you didnt believe in him.
Otherwise the judge could argue that he assumed you didnt want to swear to god because you were not willing to be held accountable by your believed creator.
Is it possible that this was an issue of miscommunication, or did you express your atheism?
