I have just
been thrown off a jury at circuit court (criminal) level in Shelby County
Alabama ONLY because I was an admitted atheist. This is after I had been sworn
in by the judge. I told him I could swear to tell the truth, the whole truth,
and nothing but the truth, but could not say so help me god. He put it to a
vote among the lawyers, and allowed the defense attorney to throw me out –
even tho there shall be NO religious test for public officials, which jurors
are.
The question
is, do I sue on constitutional grounds? Anyone else ever been thrown out AFTER
you take the oath??
